space cats

doris and henry are reaching for the stars, as they have become unsatisfied with life by the sea. in exchange for daily meals, they pose for karolina's portraits, little sketches committed to paper in ink, pencil, conte, chalk and oil pastels. doris is a neurotic calico who despises having her photograph taken. henry is her long-haired moggy son who is well-aware of his beauty and uses it to his advantage, viz., feigning innocence or letting doris take the blame for suspicious environmental disruptions in their otherwise pleasant seaside flat.
it cannot be denied that henry's politics lean decidedly to the left, while doris is a strict conservative, her partial hitler moustache betraying her fascist sympathies. in fact, doris does not love henry very much, but karolina chooses to imagine that their relationship is kind and loving, and hopes that her series of one-off sketches and individually-painted (sometimes) frames will radiate an aura of the supposed dignity of cats.
